Four white paws carried the light body across the soft grass. His brown eyes scanned the horizon carefully, tail wagging behind his small body. He was just a pup, and he acted as if he was about to be killed. This slightly shocked even himself, but he continued trotting on, like he owned the world. Though he did own the world. His world. That was about it. The world that he lived in, how he lived it was what he owned. And he knew that, and he liked that. Even though every other animal owned their own worlds but he didn't care about that. Just his. His trotting slowed as he neared a beautiful waterfall, and he stared at it in amazment. That was all he could do. Stare at it in amazment. He sat down on his haunches, just mesmerized by the waterfall, and he glanced around quickly to see nothing else. He then realized he hadn't seen another wolf, or even a dog, around here lately.

Talla walked carefully toward the waterfall. She had heard it before, and was extremely thirsty. She finally saw it. Her legs seemed to pull her toward its beauty. She sat down, but before she drank, she looked around. A white pup was sitting there, completely hypnotized by the waterfall. She could only smell his scent. That meant he had no pack. Talla decided to talk to the little guy. "Um, excuse me, may I ask you where we are?" She asked softly. She didn't want to frighten him. Her white tipped tail curled delicately over her forepaws. Her eyes surveyed the area with a calm look.

Gizmo jumped slightly at the sight of another wolf. I, I don't know where we are. A waterfall? He glanced up at it and watched in amazment. He then glanced back at the female. He had never seen another so calm. They hd always been spazzing out from where he came from. Parents and all. He still stared at the waterfall, but then brought his attention back to the female near him. He glanced at her, and smiled a little. Why not? He was pup, he liked to act cute, and he liked bringing attention to himself. What's you name? He was curious, what could you do about it?

She almost laughed out loud. The young wolf seemed to like acting cute. They often did. She didn't mind giving them attention. They all grew up eventually, so she enjoyed being around them while they were still pups. "I am Talla. It seems you aren't precisely familiar with this place either," she answered in the same soft voice. She wouldn't mind if he stayed with her. He was a wolf, she was a husky. He would naturally be better at finding a pack. "You know, I think we are at a waterfall," she added in mock surprise. "So what is your name?"

My name? He asked in a playful tone, still staring at the waterfall, then glancing at Talla. My name is Gizmo. He got a little high pitched when he said Gizmo and laughed a little afterwards. We're at a waterfall? Why's the water falling? He always had funny questions to ask. it didn't matter where, or when, in what situation, he was always happy and cheery, making up the craZiest things as he went. And if he could think of something just like that, he just did something stupid. Either, he was a pup, so everyone simply laughed at him and joined in. To him, it was funny watching adults play with pups. He glanced back at thw waterfll and cocked his head to the side, still stareing in wonder. Then he glanced back to Talla. Can I call you... Tally?

Talla laughed silently. He would have plenty of questions. She only hoped he would get an answer. Young minds were always so amazing. Infinite questions, and sometimes their memory astounded her. Well Gizmo, I expect that the water falls because, like everything, it must come down," she replied. She splashed one white paw into the water at the bottom. See? The water droplets all fall back down. Oh, and yes, you may call me Tally," She couldn't help but wonder if any fish would fall into the pool. Gizmo would probably like some lunch. Pups were always ravenous. She remembered her reason for coming, and drank her fill of the clear waters. She hoped Gizmo would find a pack. He was not quite old enough to wander alone.

Oh... Gizmo said, watching the water. Well why does it always fall, not rise? He cocked his head to the side, then splashed both paws into the water at once. I don't want it to fall. I want it to go up! He smiled as he said this, then wagged his tail a little. He liked Tally. She was nice. And if everything comes down... then why can birds go up? He smiled, stil lwagging his tail, and glanced over at Talla, then sat on his haunches, mesmorized by the waterfall once again.
